INTRODUCING THE GOOD GOOD SESSIONS: WORDS

words

We’re so excited to introduce The Good Good Sessions!

July 4, at the Good Copy in Collingwood, we’ll be hosting the first in what we hope to be a really exciting series.

The Sessions are our way of bringing the Good Good Girl spirit into the real world. Through them we’re working to help women grow their creative networks, meet new people, make friends, and source out feedback and support for their own projects.

Taking place across several Saturday mornings throughout 2015, our first session will be centred on writing. We’ll kick off with an interactive panel discussion including Penny Modra (editorial director at The Good Copy), Sarah Booth (writer, editor, and project manager) and Nadia Saccardo (editor at large)—three women working in innovative ways in the industry. After the chat you’ll have time to hang and socialise in a welcoming and open environment.

Although we’ll be touching on elements of professional practice, we encourage women at all stages in their career to come along.

Finally, we’ll be asking all participants to allow their contact details and a bit of information about themselves be added into our Good Sessions Database. Don’t worry, it’s not a gross spam list.

By putting your name on the list you’re doing two things: firstly saying you’re open to be approached for advice, feedback, collaboration ideas, or even just to get a coffee. But by becoming part of this community, it means you’re also welcome to use the list when developing your own projects. Perhaps you could use some feedback on a career change, or are simply seeking a fresh set of ideas on a project. By joining the database you’re expressing desire to help build building our city’s creative female presence in a way that rejects any sense of elitism or social barriers.

Ultimately, these sessions are about meeting other awesome women with similar interests and passions. Because the reality is we’re busy, and it’s not always easy to step out of our social circles and take the opportunity to meet other amazing women. If you love writing and words, we encourage you to come along to hopefully pick up some tips, but definitely have an awesome morning with a bunch of inspiring women.

Spaces are limited, so if you want to join on or for more information email us.

We can’t wait to meet you!
